God's Work in Me (Pt 3) Recipe for Success
October 25, 2009 05:11 PM PDT
Philippians 3:12-14 - Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. |
Podcast SummaryWe want the presentation of the gospel in every service to be clear, concise, and relevant to our lives. You'll find this emphasis in every aspect of the service. We dress in everything from slacks to leather and chains. Everyone is welcome--it doesn't matter if you've got bloo hair or no hair. We're all in it together. About PathwayTemple Baptist Church was conceived on January 22, 1950 when God brought together 17 people of vision with the expressed purpose of forming a Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching, Southern Baptist Church. From its inception, this church resolved to be financially independent from any denominational agency or sponsoring church. Temple Baptist Church was never a mission of any church, and never received financial support from outside the church body. When the church was only one month old, a giant step of faith led these middle-income families to purchase the former Grace Methodist Church (at the corner of Washington and Union) for $9,500. (The median wage at that time was 47 cents per hour.) Rapid growth soon necessitated stepping out in faith once again. In 1953 the congregation purchased 3 acres of property on the corner of Cypress Avenue and Redlands Boulevard. The purchase price was $9,000. By December 1954, Temple Baptist was using its new sanctuary; this building has now been remodeled into the Preschool Building. Ten years later, growth again prompted the congregation to begin a building program, and ground was broken in June of 1965. In April 1966, the present Worship Center was dedicated. In 1997, we began purchasing property adjacent to our current location. We now own over 7.2 acres of the 10-acre block where we currently reside. We are in the process of renovating our facilities and campus. In August of 2003, the name was changed to Pathway Church. Favorite LinksContact MeSubscribe to this Podcast
